‘Post Days East’ Opening Party @ BLOC pics!

Friday, October 5th, 2012

Bloc Salon would like to thank everyone that came out to the opening party for the ‘Post Days East’ exhibition by photographer Colin O’Brien. The night saw a great turn out and thanks to DJs Princess Julia, Josh Quinton and Alphadeluxe the party stayed in full swing right up until the end! Throughout the night we also had the lovely man himself Colin O’Brien taking photos of the crowd that came to celebrate everything creative in the design triangle of Shoreditch!

Pastel Perfect Colour!

Saturday, August 25th, 2012

Recently for Marc Jacobs and Chanels pre-summer 2013 catwalk shows it was all about fondant pastel hair colours. Sorbet colours of  soft  lilac, coral, pink, pale  pitachio green and yellow  make up a spectrum of candy shop inspired looks. An alternative to a all over pastel colouring can be bloc colouring  which enhances your natural hair  to create an eccentric but fun and youthful look.

Colin O’Brien Photographic Exhibition @ BLOC!!!

Tuesday, August 21st, 2012

Bloc Salon is excited to annouce that we will be collaborating with photographer Colin O’Brien for our next exhibition starting in the beginning of September 2012. Colin has been living in and photographing the East End of  London for over 50 years.

Colin O’Brien’s photographs of mainly urban scenes demonstrate his eye for irony, combined with his obvious professional competence with the camera and in the darkroom, winning competitions and resulting in a number of reviews and critical articles recognising his increasing importance as an exponent of the peripatetic school.

Colin’s creative eye frames, in composition, images that communicate decisive moments. Whether of historical events or narratives of everyday life. Colin has produced a body of work in which poetic beauty is never lost, no matter how commonplace at times the subject matter.

Dying to Dip

Wednesday, June 20th, 2012

With summer making an appearance in recent weeks, we know that a lot of ladies like to change their hair colour for brighter more vibrant locks to match the bright weather.
Dying your whole head or putting highlights all over it can be on option, but dip dying is the perfect way to brighten up your tresses and give you a natural, warmer appearance. Dip dying is literally dying the ends of your hair to give them the appearance of having been dipped in dye, and it looks fantastic.
Celebrities that are a fan of dip dye include Drew Barrymore, Rachel Bilson and Alexa Chung to name a few.
Dip dying can be the colour you want. You can accentuate your hair by having the ends a few shades lighter than the rest of your hair, or if you’re feeling really wild you could dye your ends a hot pink or a deep red!
Dip dying is one of the latest hair trends, so if you want that celebrity look then look no further, get those ends dipped!
